I checked all three of those reasons for why I started doing business online. If I had to add a fourth it would be that it allows me to follow my curiosity and (hope)fully express my talents in ways that probably wouldn't be possible in other types of employment.
I would say being your own boss is one of the hardest things about running a business. That takes some serious skills & self knowledge.
Re: Home Business Blog–How to Build Business Relationships FAST!

Hi Karen,
So glad that we meet on the blog challenge, and I agree with you. He lost 3 business by changes in laws or new "inventions" from politicians. He already give his workers health attention in the closest hospital to his factory. He had an open account there and goes at the end of the month to pay the entire bill for his workers and families. But when the "Official Social Security" was introduced, they go and close his shop because "he didn't paid correctly the social security taxes". At the end? 300 people lost jobs AND medical care because "it was not the official security!".

Thanks for sharing, I do the same as well.

Re: Home Business Blog–How to Promote Your Business on Amazon

Nice strategy. What a lot of ebook writers don't think of is to publish their ebooks through amazon. They can then get an author blog which has a nice bit of authority and helps with search engine optimizations efforts. Links in author blog posts can be 'followed' links. Unfortunately, reviewer profiles look like they only have nofollow links. They don't actually help with your sites rankings so much, but they still help with visibility, reputation and for pulling in those visitors that are interested enough to click through.

Re: Entrepreneur Characteristics–My Father’s Story

My father was an entrepreneur and passed that spirit on to his daughters who have carried on the tradition.

I'm reading an old book called Successful Selling for Introverts. Thomas
Murphy talked about relationship marketing in a book written decades before
Twitter, Facebook and social marketing became the thing. I much prefer the
'not tuff' style of being an entrepreneur. It's great to know you're one
like me. Thanks for telling me.

Best,
Karen

Re: Entrepreneur Characteristics–My Father’s Story

Hi Karen,
It is true, being an entrepreneur runs in your blood. I come from a family of entrepreneurs, both sides, but it was difficult for me growing up because for my family "I didn't have what it takes" to be one. Meaning I wasn't tuff enough... It took some time for me to realise I could be an entrepreneut 'new style'...

My father died when I was 27 and he was 48. But I'm sure he is smiling when he sees I am doing this "my way". He wouldn't have expected it any other way ;-)

Lot's of success!
Linda

Re: Home Business Blog–How to Promote Your Business on Amazon

This is an interesting strategy. The author explained fully how to advertise your business at Amazon by writing reviews. It makes sense that this can help in driving traffic to your site to make people see what help there is in it for them.
